Mervyn's body guard pleads guilty for theft

A private body guard of Deputy Minister Mervyn Silva today pleaded guilty for the theft of the phone belonging to the Dy minister’s wife when he was produced in the Colombo Magistrate courts.

 

The suspect is to be sentenced on June 8. He was released on Rs. 2,500 cash bail and Rs. 100,000 surety bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate, Ravindra Premaratna. 

 

The suspect Sampath Rasika Kumara had stolen a Nokia phone valued at Rs. 13,500 of the Dy Minister’s wife, Mary Lucida
