Enews Editor flees country for protection

Lankaenews Editor, Sandaruwan Senadhira it is really learnt has fled the country recently due to the threat on his life. He played a key role in popularizing news websites in Sri Lanka.

Many attempts made by the President and his brothers to take charge of the locally and internationally popular Lankaenews website, were unsuccessful. The staff including Senadhira and News Editor Bennet Rupasinghe started to receive death threats thereafter.

The website unofficially supported Common Opposition Candidate General Sarath Fonseka at the Presidential election and one of its feature writers, Prageeth Eknaligoda was abducted on January 24 and remains
  missing to date.

The Lankaenews Editor has been under constant threat after the Presidential election and several attempts had also been made to abduct him. In such a backdrop, he was forced to continue his website from a secret location.

It is learnt that Senadhira has made necessary arrangements for the website to continue its operations although he is currently overseas.
